Zawadi Nyong’o, daughter of Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o, has celebrated another milestone in her relationship with her wife.
Zawadi marked 49 months together with her partner in a sweet social media post shared on Tuesday, September 8. She accompanied the message with photos of the couple enjoying drinks while spending time together.
In the photos, Zawadi and her wife held colourful cocktails as they posed for the camera at what appeared to be a restaurant surrounded by greenery.
Zawadi affectionately referred to her partner as Habibi and my person while expressing her love for her.
Happy 49th monthaversary Habibi. Thank you for being my person. I love you a tiny teeny bit, she wrote.
The post attracted attention from her followers, with some leaving comments celebrating the couple and their relationship.
Zawadi has previously been open about her relationship and her journey within the LGBTQ community. Her decision to publicly share details about her personal life has continued to attract interest, partly because she is the daughter of one of Kenya’s best-known political figures.
The latest celebration also comes weeks after more details about her marriage became public.
Zawadi previously revealed that she and her partner got married on August 8, 2022. She explained that the date carried special meaning for her because it coincided with what she described as the Lion’s Gate Portal as well as the 88th birthday of her late grandmother.
The couple have maintained a relatively private life but occasionally give their followers glimpses of their relationship through social media.
Zawadi’s latest post suggests that the relationship has remained strong several years after they began dating.
Her public celebrations have also offered her followers a glimpse into a more personal side of her life away from her family’s political background.
The 49-month anniversary post comes as Zawadi continues to share moments from her life with those who follow her online.
