A vocal ally of the former Deputy President, Hon. Rigathi Gachagua Hon Jayne Kihara, who is also the Member of Parliament of Naivasha constituency, has suffered a huge blow after anti-riot police officers blocked her from accessing her home in Naivasha, Nakuru County.
According to photos that have gone viral on different social media platforms, the vocal legislator was set to host a section of grassroots leaders at her home in Naivasha but the anti riot police moved with speed and blocked her from holding the meeting for alleged security reasons. Roads leading to her home were also blocked by a heavy contingent of police officers.
Hon. Jayne Kihara is a close ally of the former Deputy President, Hon. Rigathi Gachagua, who is a fierce critic of President William Samoei Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza administration.
A week ago, the vocal lawmaker was arrested by security officers and was charged in court of law for incitement after she slammed President William Samoei Ruto and questioned his style of leadership. She was later released from custody after being charged.
This is not the first time that the allies of the former Deputy President, Hon. Rigathi Gachagua, have clashed with police officers in Nakuru County. A few weeks ago, Nyandarua County Senator, Hon. Methu Muhia, and other allies of Rigathi Gachagua were blocked by police from holding a political rally in Nakuru County. The police lobbed teargas at their convoy, forcing them to disperse in different directions.
While reacting to the ordeal, former Deputy President Hon. Rigathi Gachagua slammed Sam Mburu, the husband of Nakuru County Governor Hon. Susan Kihika, accusing him of ordering the police to attack his allies. Gachagua vowed to teach them a lesson in 2027 by making both Ruto and Kihika both one-term president and governor, respectively.
