Vindee

Popular prankster Vindee Official has spoken candidly about the harsh realities behind online fame, revealing that he once blocked his mother due to mounting financial pressure. Speaking during an interview with Oga Obinna, the digital creator said many people assume viral success automatically translates into wealth—an assumption he says is far from the truth.

Vindee, who is known for his controversial phone-snatching prank videos, boasts more than 130,000 followers on Instagram and over 250,000 on Facebook, alongside sizable audiences on other platforms. Despite this, he admitted he is still struggling financially.

According to Vindee, the pressure intensified whenever his videos performed well online. He claimed his mother, who is facing financial difficulties, would often call to ask for money after seeing his clips surpass 100,000 views. “My dad is a bit stable, but my mum is struggling. Anytime a video goes viral, she assumes I’m doing well financially. It reached a point where I had to block her to escape the pressure,” he said.

He added that such expectations are a major reason many content creators silently battle depression, as the public often equates online popularity with financial success.

Vindee’s revelation sparked mixed reactions online. While some fans sympathised with his struggles, others urged him to reconcile with his mother, reminding him of the importance of family and open communication over finances.
