Alexis Ohanian, husband to Serena Williams, has promised to give Ksh 12.9 million to Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon if she breaks the world record in the women’s mile race today.

Kipyegon, a three-time Olympic champion, is hoping to become the first woman to run the mile in under four minutes.

It is evident that talents always pay and today, Faith Kipyegon is just some few hours away before getting this huge amount from Serena William’s husband. We pray that Faith will write history and bring glory to our country. All the best to her.

Kipyegon will wear a customized spike that is lighter than the Zoom Victory 2 spikes that she wears in races. She has also been equipped with a new speed suit and 3D-printed ‘bra’ aimed at improving her aerodynamics.

No finalized pacing formation has been announced yet by Nike. An all-star cast of Nike athletes could be in the works for it. Georgia Hunter-Bell, Grant Fisher, Cooper Teare, Stewy McSweyn and Craig Engels are among the athletes in Paris for the event. Some of Kipyegon’s training partners also traveled from Kenya for the event.
