The Kenyan Government introduced the strategic Affordable housing programme as a landmark project to the tenure of Head of State His Excellency William Ruto.
It is critical to note that in order to fund the project, the Kenyan Government through the stewardship of the president introduced a mandatory housing levy deduction from the salaries of public servants across the country.
The Kenyan Government during the roll out of the strategic Affordable housing programme divulged that 1.5 per cent of the basic salaries of public servants in the country would be deducted as housing levy on a monthly basis.
With the programme currently ongoing on multiple parts of the country, details have now emerged on the total amount of money public servants earning a monthly salary of Ksh50,000 are being deducted as Housing Levy.
According to an analysis by Kenyans.co.ke, all public servants in Kenya who earn a monthly salary of Ksh50,000 are being deducted a total amount Ksh750 on a mandatory basis as Housing Levy.
