Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has launched fresh attacks against President William Ruto, accusing him of grabbing public land and pushing personal projects.
Speaking during a political event on Friday, Gachagua claimed Ruto had taken a piece of land near the new Talanta Hela Stadium to build a private hotel.
“Ruto ameiba shamba leo usiku, karibu na Talanta Hela Stadium. Anataka ajengewe hoteli” he said, as a crowd of supporters cheered.
Gachagua, who was once Ruto’s closest ally, now appears completely detached from the ruling Kenya Kwanza camp.
His latest remarks reflect rising political tension between the two former friends.
He also dismissed Ruto’s leadership, saying the president would only serve one term.
“Wewe Kasongo ni one term, na mambo yako tumemaliza,” Gachagua said. “Hata upatie vibaraka wako pesa watudanganye nazo, unaenda nyumbani!”
The former DP accused the president of using state resources to fund propaganda and bribe voters ahead of the 2027 elections.
However, he insisted that Kenyans were no longer easy to fool and would vote him out.
