Kenyan socialite Amber Ray has finally reacted to her partner Kennedy Rapudo’s comments about being the one who pays all the bills at home — and her response has left fans amused.
The drama began after Rapudo, in an interview with Dr Ofweneke, confidently stated that he handles every financial responsibility in their house. He even joked that Amber doesn’t spend a coin, not even on something as small as salt.
This came after weeks of online claims suggesting Amber was the one financially supporting Rapudo. The couple had also faced breakup rumours earlier this year, especially after Amber listed some of Rapudo’s office items for sale. They later explained she was only renovating their home.
In her signature style, Amber didn’t let the comment slide quietly. Taking to Instagram, she shared a lighthearted video and captioned it, “Ukiniangalia hata huwezi sema hata chumvi siwezi nunua” — meaning, “When you look at me, you can’t say I can’t even buy salt.”
Her fans quickly flooded the comment section, some laughing off the playful jab while others tried to read between the lines, wondering whether she was subtly responding to Rapudo’s statement.
Away from the drama, Amber also revealed she recently treated herself to a new Range Rover worth over KSh 7 million. She said she prefers rewarding herself with gifts that lift her mood instead of flowers whenever she feels low.
