Kenyan musician and businesswoman Esther Akoth Kokeyo, popularly known as Akothee, has shared an emotional message about the special bond she has with her father.
In a post shared on her Facebook page, Akothee revealed that her father has developed serious trust issues since she relocated, making it difficult for him to let her go whenever they spend time together.
According to Akothee, her father is always concerned about her whereabouts and frequently asks where his daughter is, even when she is nearby.
She recalled moments when they attended church together and her father repeatedly asked people around him about her location every few minutes.
Akothee said that even when she was sitting with him in the car, her father would still ask, “Where is my daughter?”
The singer described the situation as an emotional reflection of the strong connection between a father and his daughter.
After attending church, Akothee decided to spend more time with her father. The two went out together and enjoyed themselves until late.
Sharing the experience, Akothee wrote, “After church, we went out and had fun until late. I had to remind him of his younger days. Life was not always this serious. Nothing is wrong with enjoying a little time together.”
The time they spent together became even more emotional for Akothee as she eventually had to leave her father.
Her post suggests that saying goodbye was difficult because of the close relationship they share and her father’s concern whenever she has to leave.
Akothee’s message has highlighted the importance of spending quality time with parents and creating meaningful memories while there is still an opportunity to do so.
For the musician, the simple moments spent after church, including their time together until late, became a reminder that life is not always about serious responsibilities and that families should make time to enjoy one another’s company.
