Kenyan singer and business owner Akothee has responded to her critics with a sharp rebuke, accusing some people of using her name to stay relevant while questioning her success.
In a long post, the self-proclaimed president of single mothers said that some men, including older ones, are fixated on her money and accomplishments.
She wondered why people who have called her an upcoming artist for the last 12 years now seem threatened by her success. In her view, it doesn’t make sense for critics to downplay her career while also trying to get attention by using her name.
Akothee also spoke about AY and DJ Sadik, saying that her issues with them never seem to end. She stated that she’s ready to deal with conflicts both online and in person and warned that there are penalties for defamation.
The singer questioned why her brand continues to draw attention from people she feels didn’t help build it. She insisted that her success, including the lifestyle that gave her the nickname V8 Lady, is due to hard work and perseverance. She challenged her critics to show off their talents instead of dwelling on her achievements.
Akothee also accused some men of using sexual insults when they can’t win arguments against women, calling these actions cheap and desperate.
Despite the criticism, Akothee stated that her brand is still strong and popular. She implied that some of her haters are trying to get back in the spotlight by associating with her name but confirmed she is still in charge of her story and success.
