A youth leader from Kapseret, identified as Ken Maswai, was hospitalized just hours after a video of him warning Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi went viral on social media.
In the video, Maswai is seen visibly angry as he accuses some people linked to the MP of harassing residents and bribing local youths.
He is heard telling Sudi to control his supporters and focus on serving the people. Maswai further says that if the MP does not want to work for the community, he should step aside.
He also warns that if anything happens to a youth in the area, they would hold Sudi responsible.
A few hours after the video spread online, images showing Maswai injured and being rushed to the hospital started circulating on various social media platforms.
He appeared to have suffered physical injuries, with torn and dirty clothes, visible bleeding, and was seen seated in a wheelchair.
It remains unclear what exactly happened, but early reports suggest that the youth leader may have been attacked by a group of unidentified people.
As the news spread, an audio recording believed to be of a phone conversation between Sudi and Maswai also emerged.
In the recording, both can be heard speaking angrily and blaming each other for spreading false information and causing tension.
The incident has sparked strong reactions online, with many social media users condemning the growing cases of political intolerance in the country.
