With Kenyan musicians crying to have more airtime in the Kenyan waves, Ababu Namwamba has stated that international artists jetting into the country will have to spend limited time in the country in a move that is aimed at growing the local music industry.

While speaking at the National Creative Summit Namwamba claimed that there is a need to ensure the mantra remains to sell Kenya to the world.

Namwamba was quick to point out that there lack of order as any artist can get into the country and do whatever they want.

“Kenya has become like a space where any artiste can just walk in and do their things, artists from other countries perform here with absolutely no control, yet you cannot do the same in their countries.” Namwamba said.

Stated Namwamba. He also stated that the country is ready to expand its horizons with other artists even from Nigeria in a bid to tap something from them and understand how they command the music industry.

Earlier today the football governing body (FIFA) lifted the ban on Kenya and the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) after the sports Cabinet secretary stated they would intervene, hopefully, the nation will participate in intercontinental football.

Namwamba also added that they are working to fix the problem in the rugby union.
