Residents of Kinyai village in Kangundo Constituency, Machakos County, were left in disbelief after a middle-aged man was arrested for allegedly raping two goats, leading to their deaths.

The bizarre incident, which occurred earlier this week, has sparked widespread outrage both within the local community and online.

According to reports, the suspect was spotted by residents dragging the lifeless goats from a nearby bush where they had been tethered.

Shockingly, it was his own mother who first raised the alarm after discovering the animals dead and her son in a compromising position. She immediately alerted neighbors, prompting a swift response from the area assistant chief and villagers.

The suspect was apprehended and handed over to officers at Kangundo Police Station. Photos of the deceased goats and the suspect in custody quickly circulated on social media, drawing condemnation from Kenyans who described the act as barbaric, shameful, and inhumane.

Many called for harsher punishment for such cases, emphasizing the need to strengthen animal protection laws.

Confirming the arrest, local authorities said the man was arraigned before Kangundo Law Courts, where he faced two counts of bestiality under the Penal Code. The suspect pleaded not guilty and was released on a bond of KSh 100,000 pending the hearing of the case.

Residents of Kinyai village have since called for counseling and mental evaluation of the suspect, expressing concern over the rising cases of animal cruelty in the area.
