For years, she was the loudest and most passionate soprano in the grand, yellow-clad choir. When the charismatic director first formed this lively ensemble, he promised a revolutionary sound.

It was supposed to be a harmonious symphony for the downtrodden, a beautiful melody that would finally bring immense wealth and prosperity to the tired masses listening from the cheap seats.

She sang her heart out, actively convincing thousands of hopeful fans to buy expensive tickets to the greatest show on earth, truly believing that the promised golden era of bottom-up harmony was right around the corner.

But once the choir director firmly secured the grandest stage in the land, the beautiful music abruptly stopped. The promised symphony quickly devolved into a chaotic, tone-deaf racket.

Instead of enriching the loyal fans who had bought into the dream, the managers began aggressively picking their pockets, demanding ever-higher entry fees while delivering absolutely nothing in return.

She watched in sheer horror as the very people she had serenaded were subjected to relentless financial squeezing and oppressive new rules. The choir had unapologetically morphed into an elite club, completely ignoring the desperate, agonizing cries of the ordinary citizens stranded outside the concert hall walls.

Unable to stomach the deafening hypocrisy any longer, she dramatically dropped the microphone. She vehemently refused to smile and sing the chorus of a deceitful tune that was actively impoverishing her loyal audience.

This fiery soloist is, in reality, Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba, and the discordant choir she just abandoned is the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

Disgusted by punitive taxes, a soaring cost of living, and shattered economic promises, she has officially announced her permanent departure from the president’s political vehicle, declaring she will seek an honest stage ahead of the 2027 elections.
