Priscilla Shegera, 24, from Teso sent a message to Radio Jambo, asking for reconciliation with her ex-husband Alex Opama, 31, who she separated from in October 2021.
Priscilla said their two-year marriage began to fall apart after her husband sent her to their home and then interrupted the conversation. The two had one child together before they separated.
“He sent me to go to them with the child. When they arrived, he didn’t call me. He just called his mother and asked her if the people had arrived safely, she said we had arrived at that time and then he hung up,” Priscilla said.
Priscilla said her husband continued to remain silent to her and they could not talk on the phone whenever he called her.
“After a week I called him and he hung up. The other day I called him at night and heard he was busy, I thought he was at work. The month ended without anyone talking to me,” he said.
He explained that he went through many hardships at Opama’s house until he had to leave and leave his son.
“When a relative sends money, he uses his mother and I am the one who gets hurt with the child. If it is soap, his mother uses it, she cuts me a small piece and tells me when it is over, I should take care of myself. I left her child with her mother,” he said.
He continued, “Right now he has blacklisted me. If I look for another number, he blacklists me. He forced me to give birth to him. After giving birth, he threw me like that.”
Efforts to reconcile the two were unsuccessful as Alex did not pick up the phone despite Gidi calling him several times.
Priscilla said, “I am looking for him because he is with my child. I told my mother-in-law to give me a child and she refused. The mother wanted me to leave so her son could continue sending money to her.”
When he was given the chance to talk to Alex on the air, he said, “Alex, I love you, I want to get back together. If I wronged you, I apologize. I have asked many times and you don’t want to forgive me… I started to apologize in 2021 but he doesn’t want to forgive me.”
