Nairobi commuters have new reasons to smile. Kenya Railways has just released an updated schedule for its Nairobi Commuter Rail (NCR) bus services. This new plan connects key areas of the city by road and rail.
The service aims to make daily travel faster and easier. It links Nairobi’s busy Central Business District (CBD) to key locations like Westlands, Upperhill, Yaya Centre, and the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
The JKIA route begins at 6:00 a.m. and runs until 8:00 p.m. It connects the CBD with Embakasi Village and the Cargo Area. The fare? A flat KSh 50 per trip.
For those headed to Yaya Centre, buses leave between 7:55 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., and again from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Stops include Serena Hotel, Nairobi Hospital, and Hurlingham.
The Upperhill service operates from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with stops at CIC, KNH, and KASNEB, among others. The Westlands line, also running from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., connects key spots like Jeevanjee, Museum Hill, and ABC Place.
These buses are modern, with comfortable seats and smooth routes. They are part of an integrated plan to help people move quickly between rail and road systems.
Kenya Railways says the NCR bus services will help reduce traffic delays and save time. Rail schedules to areas like Embakasi, Syokimau, Limuru, and Lukenya have also been revised for better service.
