Deputy Party Leader of the Democract for the Citizens Party (DCP), Cleophas Malala, has strongly condemned the transfer of the public seal from the Office of the Attorney General to the Office of Public Service.
Malala alleged that the move was carried out secretly at night when the Attorney General was absent, likening it to the government stealing from itself. He expressed concern that the shift could open the door to corrupt dealings, especially in a country already struggling with accountability issues.
Malala questioned the motive behind the change, insisting that the Attorney General has traditionally served as the official custodian of the public seal.
He warned that relocating the seal could pave the way for the transfer of critical government parastatals without proper public scrutiny or due process.
He urged Kenyans to remain vigilant and resist what he described as a dangerous and suspicious move that could weaken transparency and governance.
