In a major development aimed at streamlining education service delivery, the Ministry of Education and the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) have signed a transformative framework for collaboration.
The agreement, part of the implementation of the Presidential Working Party’s recommendations on education reforms, seeks to harmonise the respective roles of the two institutions.
Key focus areas include the training of teachers, strengthening education quality assurance, and enhancing accountability in the management of public education funds.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who presided over the signing ceremony, hailed the agreement as a bold step toward improving the efficiency and impact of education delivery across the country.
“This framework establishes clear lines of engagement between the Ministry and TSC to eliminate duplication and ensure that every shilling allocated to education delivers maximum value,” Kindiki stated.
Also in attendance were Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba, Attorney General Dorcas Oduor, TSC Chairman Dr. Jamleck Muturi John, TSC CEO Nancy Macharia, and several senior government officials.
The harmonised framework is expected to lay the foundation for sustainable education reforms and boost Kenya’s long-term development goals through a more coherent and accountable education system.
