Selection Panel

As reported by People Daily, the race to chair the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has reportedly been narrowed down to two main contenders, former Judiciary Chief Registrar Anne Amadi and former Constitution Implementation Committee boss Charles Nyachae.

According to insiders, the IEBC Selection Panel, led by Dr. Nelson Makanda, has reportedly identified the two as top performers after a month-long recruitment process.

Anne Amadi is said to have outshone her peers with her judicial leadership experience and command of electoral processes.

Charles Nyachae, known for his previous role in constitutional reforms, also impressed the panel, earning him a place as a serious contender.

The selection process, which included interviews and assessments, aimed at rebuilding the electoral body after years of dysfunction.

President William Ruto has received the report and is expected to forward one name to Parliament. With Amadi and Nyachae as the top picks, the country awaits a final decision that could reshape IEBC’s leadership and integrity.
