Former Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has made an announcement hours after his ‘Mbus’ Party Ditched Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza.

Taking to his official social media account, Murungi began by reiterating that his Party is autonomous and Independent. He made it clear that, they as a party, are currently not in any formal coalition with any Party.

The Former Meru Governor announced that his Party will be fielding a candidate Hon. Network Karish in the upcoming Mbeere North Parliamentary By-Elections.

“Bus party is non aligned. Bus party is autonomous. Bus party is independent. We are currently not in any formal coalition with any party. Our focus at the moment is to grow our base within the region and Kenya at large even as we keenly observe the unfolding political landscape. Further, Bus party will leave no stone unturned to make sure our candidate Hon. Newton Karish clinches the Mbeere North Parliamentary seat in Embu County in the upcoming By election.” Reads Murungi’s message.

Murungi revealed that they will leave no stone unturned to ensure Newton Karish clinches the seat, hinting at an upcoming Political showdown in Mbeere North, Embu County, considering that Ruto’s UDA Party and Gachagua’s Party might also field Candidates.

The Mbeere North Parliamentary Seat fell vacant after Ruto appointed immediate former MP Geoffrey Ruku as CS Public Service to replace Justin Muturi. Ruku was elected Mbeere North MP in 2022 after vying under Justin Muturi’s Democratic Party (DP).
