Residents of Maela village in Naivasha are in shock after the body of 10-year-old Bridgit Muthoni was discovered in a family water tank on Tuesday evening.
According to a statement by Evangelist Mercy Nungari, the young girl had been missing since Saturday, April 19, 2025, sparking an extensive search by her family and neighbors.
Despite days of searching, no one suspected the water tank near their house until Tuesday when her body was found inside. Distraught villagers believe she was dumped there on Monday night.
Emotions ran high as authorities retrieved the girl’s body from the tank. Local police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of death and identify those responsible. The body was moved to the mortuary for a postmortem.
Meanwhile, Muthoni’s grieving family is pleading with the police to uncover the truth behind her disappearance and tragic death.
The incident has left the community in mourning, raising urgent questions about safety and justice for the young victim.
