MATIANGI

Omosh, a former Tahidi High actor, confronted former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i shortly after his arrival in Kenya.

Visibly emotional, Omosh accused Matiang’i of abandoning artists and common Kenyans during his time in government.

“You sat in office and forgot the people who put you there! Artists are suffering. You never came back to check on us,” Omosh shouted, drawing the attention of onlookers and security personnel.

Matiang’i, who had been out of the country for several months, did not respond directly but was quickly escorted out of the terminal by his team.

Omosh, who has publicly spoken about his financial struggles in recent years, said he felt betrayed by leaders who once promised to support the arts and youth.

“What happened to all the promises? We were used for campaigns and then dumped,” he added.

The confrontation sparked debate on social media, with many sympathizing with Omosh while others called for a more respectful approach.

Political analysts noted the incident as a reflection of growing frustration among ordinary Kenyans, especially youth and creatives, who feel ignored by past regimes.

Efforts to reach Matiang’i’s spokesperson for a comment were unsuccessful by press time.

As Kenya continues to grapple with economic challenges, Omosh’s bold words serve as a reminder of the lingering discontent among citizens left behind by political promises.
