In a story full of emotion and surprise, former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has once again touched hearts. This time, he took his adopted son James—who witnessed the tragic death of his father—on a special trip to Lake Naivasha Resort.

The two were all smiles as they celebrated Arsenal’s dramatic win over Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. Sonko, a die-hard Arsenal fan, said he was in “holiday mood” and wanted to make it special for little James.

Photos and videos shared online showed the powerful bond between the two. In one touching moment, Sonko carried James in his arms as they watched hippos eat near the lake. In another clip, they enjoyed a joyful car ride through the resort.

Sonko didn’t just provide luxury. He gave love, peace, and comfort to a young boy who had seen too much pain too soon. Locals at the resort even joined in, taking photos and videos of the touching father-son moment.

Online, Kenyans poured their love and support for Sonko. Many praised him for having a “heart of gold” and for being a true guardian to James. Some even asked for his help with jobs and support.

Sonko’s kind acts didn’t stop there. He recently promised to help a woman from Machakos who lost her eye and arm after a hyena attack.

Mike Sonko may no longer be in office, but he is still changing lives—one act of kindness at a time. And for young James, this holiday was more than just a getaway—it was a moment of healing and hope.
