Nairobi’s biggest churches have revealed how much they made in tithes and offerings, and the numbers are massive.

According to financial reports released for the year ending December 2024, churches like CITAM, Nairobi Chapel, and All Saints Cathedral collected billions of shillings.

CITAM announced a 4% income growth, bringing in Ksh2.412 billion. The rise was linked to growth in its Assemblies and business units. The church’s schools in Thika Town and Kitengela, along with a new unit called Kijito Fresh, helped boost income to Ksh894 million, a 14% jump from 2023.

Its Valley Road branch brought in Ksh404 million, Karen collected Ksh215 million, and Woodley generated Ksh253 million. Other branches brought the total to over Ksh2 billion.

CITAM also owns Hope Media, which includes Hope TV and Hope FM, and earns from rental properties. These help increase church revenue outside offerings.

Meanwhile, Nairobi Chapel’s income also rose, hitting Ksh641.3 million in 2023, up from Ksh551.1 million in 2022. The growth was mainly from tithes, offerings, interest, donations, and partnerships. The church noted a 19% income rise overall.

Founded in the early 1990s, Nairobi Chapel now has over 10 branches across Kenya. The church’s financial report showed a rise in support from partners and gift contributions as well.

All Saints Cathedral also posted increased collections, rising from Ksh193 million in 2023 to Ksh196.1 million in 2024. Located in the heart of Nairobi, this Anglican church is known for national functions and has a large congregation.

These numbers show just how powerful and wealthy Nairobi churches have become. With millions attending services and supporting ministries, their financial strength continues to grow.
