Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on Friday held a strategic meeting with a high-powered U.S. delegation led by Dr. Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor on Africa to former U.S. President Donald Trump, and U.S. Embassy Nairobi Chargé d’Affaires Marc Dillard. The meeting, held in Nairobi, focused on enhancing bilateral relations, trade, investment, and regional security cooperation between Kenya and the United States.
During the session, the Prime Cabinet Secretary emphasized Kenya’s commitment to deepening ties with global partners and building mutually beneficial relationships. He noted that Kenya is open for investment and is actively pursuing partnerships that support its economic transformation agenda.
“The United States remains a key ally in our pursuit of sustainable development, good governance, and security. This meeting reinforces our shared values and ongoing collaboration,” Mudavadi stated.
Dr. Boulos, who is on a working visit to the region, expressed confidence in Kenya’s leadership and its role as a stabilizing force in East Africa. He conveyed the interest of American investors in sectors such as renewable energy, agriculture, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Chargé d’Affaires Marc Dillard reiterated the U.S. government’s continued support for Kenya’s democratic institutions and its efforts in promoting regional peace.
The meeting also touched on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the opportunities it presents for U.S.-Kenya trade relations. Both parties underscored the importance of leveraging Kenya’s strategic position as a gateway to Africa for investment and innovation.
The engagement marks a significant step in expanding diplomatic and economic cooperation, with follow-up meetings expected in the coming months to actualize key initiatives discussed.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary reaffirmed Kenya’s readiness to work closely with U.S. stakeholders to unlock new opportunities for citizens of both nations.
