A shocking incident happened in Aolo village, East Kamagak location, where a 15-year-old boy cut off his cousin’s hand during a fight. The suspect, a Form Three student, is now in police custody at Kosele Police Station in Rachuonyo South sub-county.

 

According to Kawere West Sub-location Senior Assistant Chief Daniel Odhiambo, the suspect had been given money to buy sugar but did not do so. When his cousin, a Grade Seven pupil, asked about the money, the two started fighting.

 

During the fight, a neighbor tried to separate them, but the suspect used a machete and chopped off her left hand.

 

People nearby heard the noise and ran to help. They found the victim in great pain and rushed her to Rachuonyo South Sub-county Hospital in Oyugis town for treatment. Meanwhile, the suspect was taken to the police station.

 

Rachuonyo South Sub-county Police Commander Philemon Saera confirmed the incident. He said the suspect will remain in custody as police continue their investigations.

This tragic event has left the village in shock, with many calling for peaceful ways to solve disagreements, especially among young people.
