The Kenyan Government has undertaken a major reshuffle of Principal Secretaries (PS’s) affecting multiple ministries. Among the biggest changes is the swap between Dr Belio Kipsang and Professor Julius Bitok, with Kipsang moving to the state Department for Immigration and Citizen Services under the ministry of interior and administration, while Julius Bitok takes over as the Principal Secretary for Basic Education at the ministry of education. Prof Julius Bitok is a holder of a diploma in education from the Kenya Science Teachers College. Previously, professor Julius was the Kenya’s High Commissioner to Pakistan.
He is a renowned educationist and a financial consultant with extensive experience in the public service. He has worked with State House, the Central Bank of Kenya, Capital Market Authority, Kenya Civil Aviation Authority and Kenya Ports Authority among other institutions
He has a passion for mentorship and education through Prof Bitok foundation, he sponsors orphaned disabled children. In addition, Professor Bitok was a senior lecturer at Moi University.
