Detectives are intensifying their investigation into the brutal murder of Warris Daud, whose dismembered hands were found dumped in South C, Nairobi.
After allegedly abducting her and two relatives, the suspect reportedly picked up another woman along City Road before discarding Warris’s severed hands and later abandoning her body in Kyumbi, Machakos County.
CCTV footage is being scrutinized to trace the suspect’s movements, particularly at a petrol station where they refueled during this harrowing journey. Investigators have also identified financial transactions linked to the suspect, adding another layer to the ongoing inquiry.
Complicating matters further, it has come to light that Warris Daudâs husband resides in the United Kingdom with a second wife.
Authorities are exploring whether this second wife, who recently visited Kenya, may have relevant information regarding the murders. This revelation has raised questions about potential motives behind the heinous act.
The bodies of Warris and her relativesâNuseiba Abdi and Amina Abdirashidâwere discovered in various locations, each showing signs of severe trauma.
Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Warris suffered extensive injuries, including a severed neck and evidence of torture.
The investigation suggests that the killings may have been motivated by a ransom demand that went awry after the victims identified their captors.
A survivor of the abduction has provided critical testimony, claiming she was held captive alongside Warris and her relatives.
She recounted how her family paid a ransom of Ksh. 1 million to secure her release, which was transferred to an Ethiopian bank account as directed by the abductors.
Her account raises suspicions about whether she was a victim or an accomplice.
