Wycliffe Oparanya, Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives, has gained attention not only for his political career but also for his openness about his personal life. At a recent thanksgiving ceremony held at Mabole Primary School in Butere, Kakamega County, Oparanya once again put his private life in the spotlight.
In the presence of President William Ruto and other notable figures, he introduced his three wives to the public, sparking conversations about his family dynamics. Among those introduced was Sharon Ambetsa, who Oparanya referred to as his “small wife,” revealing that she is now responsible for managing his wardrobe.
However, the event raised eyebrows due to the absence of Mary Biketi, who had previously made headlines after intimate photos of her with Oparanya surfaced online. Oparanya had publicly acknowledged that Biketi was his girlfriend at the time, but it seems their relationship has since ended.
Close sources suggest that Oparanya cut ties with Biketi after she allegedly leaked the controversial photos, despite his warnings. Since then, she has been blocked from his life and replaced by another woman, whose identity remains a mystery.
Oparanya’s personal life has always attracted attention due to his unusual transparency. Notably, another of his wives, Caroline, who had previously lived harmoniously alongside his first wife, Priscilla, was also missing from the event. Caroline, a resident of Likuyani Constituency and mother to some of Oparanya’s children, had played a significant role during his tenure as the Governor of Kakamega.
Despite the controversy surrounding the leaked images, Oparanya remains unfazed, expressing that he has nothing to hide. Biketi, while denying responsibility for the leak, has voiced her disappointment but also acknowledged the support she received during the ordeal.
