A day after an online publication ran an opinion poll on who Kenyans think is the best MP in the Mount Kenya region, Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba seems to have taken an early lead.

This was after Kenyans ran the opinion poll, ranking four MPs from the region who are considered the best. Among those who were ranked included Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa, his Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Gathoni Wamuchomba and Molo’s Kimani Kuria.

Kenyans were asked to choose who they think is the best performing one among the four, in an opinion poll that runs for three days

And in what could spell doom for Ruto allied troops, most Kenyans voted for the Ruto Rebel MP Wamuchomba and she was leading by far by the time of this publication.

With a few hours to the end of the online opinion poll, Gathoni is leading by 63.4% of the 2372 votes cast. Ndindi Nyoro is second with a preference rate of 29.6% while Kimani Kuria was last with 2.2%

While this could reflect the situation at the ground, this could also serve as a clear indication of how Kenyans are disassociating themselves from Ruto allied camp, with the government currently under intense criticism over the Finance Bill of 2024.

Wamuchomba has been so vocal against Ruto’s government policies and was the only MP from UDA party who recently joined colleagues mostly from Azimio for the Limuru III meeting.
