In a candid interview on TV47, popular Kikuyu gospel artist Ben Githae shocked his fans by publicly admitting to having three children outside his marriage. The musician, known for his powerful vocals and inspiring lyrics revealed that he had strayed from his marriage and fathered children with other women.
When pressed by Dr. Ofweneke to discuss his extramarital affairs, Githae initially seemed reluctant but eventually opened up about his past mistakes. He acknowledged that he had “messed up” and bore children outside his marriage when he was young, but emphasized that all his children are a blessing from God.
The gospel artist revealed that he has only two children Daisy and Patience with his wife, and three other children outside his marriage. He expressed regret for his past actions, saying, “These are things I do not like speaking about because the children are now big enough. I do not want to put them on the spot. It is true I messed up.”
When asked about how his wife was coping with the revelations, Githae took a pause before responding. “When something like that happens, people are obviously shaken a bit, but we are Christians, so we solved the issue and we are now okay. There is nothing special I did to make her forgive me; it is just the Lord’s intervention.”
Githae emphasized the importance of taking responsibility for one’s actions, saying, “The problem is failing to accept the mess you have created and living in denial.” He also clarified that he is married to one wife only, but has a responsibility to his other children.
In addition to his personal revelations, Githae also announced his plans to make a comeback in the music industry, but with caution. “When I came from very high popularity to zero popularity, I hibernated for sometime, because when people from your tribe attack you, it is not easy. I have however been doing shows here and there. Ben Githae is back,” he said.
