Sister. Elizabeth Wanjiru of Sisters of Emmanuel from Catholic diocese of Murang’a who died on Monday, 19th, April, 2024 on the day her late mother Margret Njeri was being laid to rest, will be put to rest on 29th, April, 2024 at The sisters of Emmanuel cemetery in Simar Village.
Rev. Sr. Elizabeth died on that day after she became somberly emotional and instantly fell unwell when her family was preparing to go to the morgue to collect her mother’s body. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately she couldn’t manage to come out of the said hospital alive.
As her burial is set for 29th, April, 2024, already several requiem masses have been conducted. There will be another requiem mass today Friday, 26th, April, 2024 at Our Lady of Assumption Ichagaki Catholic Parish. The funeral mass will be held at Beatitudes Girls High School, Murang’a on that very day from 10:00am and thereafter intermittent at The sisters of Emmanuel cemetery in Maragua, simar village.
Hundreds of Catholics from Kenya are still sending message of condolences to her family, friends, relatives, sisters of Emmanuel congregation and the entire catholic diocese of Murang’a. Her burial is expected to be attended by thousands of catholic faithful from Murang’a diocese and other dioceses in Kenya. Members of her community are also expected to turn up in large numbers in order to accord her a befitting send-off.
