Kenyans are mourning the passing of Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru.
Governor Gakuru passed on after he was involved in a grisly road accident along the Muranga-Thika highway while heading to Nairobi for a talk show.

Gakuru’s Mercedes Benz crashed into an open end of a guardrail, which pierced through the length of the vehicle.
He was in the vehicle alongside two other occupants. The Governor passed on while receiving treatment at Thika Level V Hospital.
Gakuru had won the Nyeri gubernatorial seat in August beating former governor Samuel Wamathai, who had assumed office upon the death of the first Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua.
Gachagua passed on earlier this year while receiving treatment in London.
