Members of the National Assembly Energy Committee were allegedly left frustrated and furious when the controversial Anne Njeri failed to show up for the much awaited grilling concerning the 17b oil import saga.
Despite her lawyers issueing a regret letter stating that the business lady was too sick and immobile, the Members of Parliament were dissatisfied with the explanation and had every reason to doubt the ‘sick and immobile’ explanation.
As such, sources have revealed that they gave new orders to the Clerk of the National Assembly on the next steps to take against the besieged business woman.
The members of the energy committee have ordered the Clerk of the National Assembly to write to Njeri wa Mafuta’s lawyer demanding to be furnished with complete medical records and other evidences to prove her sickness allegations.
Also, the furious Members of Parliament have demanded that the clerk of the National Assembly to get in touch with the lady and produce her in their next sitting without fail.
It should be remembered that business woman recently expressed her fear that she may be arrested anytime by the DCI forcing her to take refuge in an undisclosed location.
The Members of the Energy Committee wants her to Appear before them to shed more light concerning her claim on the 17B oil import that has now been confiscated by the government.
