President William Ruto has named Lukoye Atwoli, the son of COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli, as the non-executive chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital.

According to a gazette notice issued on Friday, November 3, Lukoye’s appointment will span three years starting from October 17, 2023.

The notice of the appointment by President Ruto, stated,

“I appoint Lukoye Atwoli (Prof.) to serve as the non-executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital for a three-year term, effective from October 17, 2023.”

The President further appointed Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa Waititu as the Chancellor of the Meru University of Science and Technology for a five-year tenure starting from November 1, 2023.

Additionally, Lucas Mogoa was appointed as a member of the State Corporations Advisory Committee for a period of three years, effective from November 3, 2023.

The President also designated Sophia Abdi Noor as the Chairperson of the National Council for Children Services for a three-year term, beginning on November 3, 2023.
