The Kilifi Cult continues to take new twist with various developments emerging from the crime scene where investigators continue to unravel the mistery behind the deaths.

So far, death toll as a result of the Kilifi cult stands at 83 after police exhumed nore bodies on Tuesday even as several who have been rescued continue to get medicak attention.

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki on Tuesday visited the crime scene in Shakahola Forest, Kilifi to witness the ongoing investigations.

Speaking after his visit, CS Kindiki has recommended that a case be built on Mackenzie who is the leader of the cult.

He has recommended that following his visit, a case on terrorism should be built on Mackenzie since he is convinced that Mackenzie and his collaborators can be charged with genocide.

“To build a case of terrorism from what we have witnessed so far from this scene of crime is not impossible. I am convinced beyond doubt that a case can be built for charging Mackenzie and his collaborators with genocide,” CS Kindiki said.

The director of public prosecutions (DPP), Noordin Haji, had earlier stated that the suspect would be charged with radicalisation and terrorism.
