Key Mount Kenya region county governor is risking to lose her position if she does not look for President William Ruto to save her from the impeachment calls from the members of her county assembly.
Meru region political analyst Mr Mutwiri James has reported that it will be very hard for the Meru county boss Mwangaza Kawira to survive the impeachment attempts posted against her by the members of the Meru county assembly.
According to The Standard online media platform, Governor Mwangaza Kawira is staring at possible ejection from office, after she fell out with the Members of the Meru County Assembly, who have been bitter with her for refusing to allocate money for ward development projects since she took office in August this year.
A week ago as reported by the news platform, an impeachment motion was tabled against Kawira Mwangaza in the Meru county assembly by Abogeta West MCA Mr Dennis Kiogora, on grounds of violations of various constitutional provisions, nepotism, gross misconduct and as well allegations of abuse of office.
Mutwiri says that she stands no chance as the entire assembly is against her, and things will get worse when the matter lands before the Senate, where she is in bad terms with her senator Murungi Kathuri.
“The numbers in the Meru county assembly are overwhelmingly against her. It will therefore require some extraordinary development for the governor to survive the impeachment, especially because she (Kawira Mwangaza) cannot see help coming from the Senate. She is not on good terms with Meru Senator Kathuri Murungi,” Meru Political analyst informed The Standard.
Mwangaza is therefore left with an option of looking for William Ruto, who has the majority of seats in the assembly, in order to survive the solemn impeachment.
