Today we’ll take a look at two Swahili news anchors for the royal media service Citizen TV. The two have received numerous awards throughout their careers. They are admired for their attractive appearance and ability to present news in an interesting manner.

Mashirima Kapombe

Mashirima was born in Voi town, Taita Taveta county, on May 1, 1989. She is currently 33 years old. Her father is a Giriama who works as a dentist in Nyeri county.

She is best known for hosting the Swahili news show Citizen TV Weekend. She went to Consolata Primary School in Nyeri County before transferring to Bishop Gatimu Ngadu Secondary School in Karina.

She earned a degree in communication and electronic media from Daystar University. She began her journalism career at KBC in 2011 before moving on to Nation Media Group for a six-month contract.

She excels at her job and has been dubbed one of Kenya’s hottest Kiswahili news anchors. With a successful career that has lasted more than a decade.

Lulu Hassan

Her full name is Lulu Khadija Hassan. She was born in Mombasa County to a Kikuyu and Seychelles ancestry mother and a Seychelles ancestry father.

Lulu is the youngest of three daughters. Because she was the firstborn, she had an easy childhood. She was sent to Aga Khan Academy, one of Mombasa’s best schools.

Before pursuing journalism, Lulu worked as a cabin crew hostess, human resource manager, and ticketing officer at Salrene Travel Operations College. After landing a radio job in Mombasa, she decided it would be a good idea to pursue journalism.
