The fuel shortage crisis in Kenya has been an issue of concern for days.
With thousands of Petrol stations across the country, motorists have had to sustain long queues in selected stations that have oil in their barrels.
The crisis that was witnessed in Mombasa, Nakuru, and Eldoret towns last week became a reality for Nairobi City dwellers over the weekend.
“Where can I find fuel?” This has been the most asked question by motorists, especially those with private vehicles.
A video has emerged showing residents of an unidentified town in Kenya in a celebratory mood after a truck carrying fuel arrived at a petrol station.
Hundreds of motorists had camped at the station, waiting for their tanks to be filled.
The video shared on social media sparked mixed reactions to the crisis in the country and how Kenyans are responding to it.
@ Mary Atieno – “You create a problem, then get your subjects to be desperate, and then you pretend to have found a solution and you have your subjects worshipping you.”
@ Fobwanda – “Are you confirming that there was an artificial shortage? Basically Hoarding… And thus a failure of the same administration and not a victory lap?”
@ Jay – “The fact that a fuel taker turns up the same day as mass fuel panic buying, should indicate there isn’t a fuel shortage, it’s just a shortage of common sense. It should be obvious not to panic buy and there will be no issue…”
@ Okul Arnold – “Why can’t we go electric ..starting with govt. Officials ..”
@ Cyrus – “The driver must have felt Kingly…. should have threatened to go back.”
