Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has firmly dismissed any possibility of joining President William Ruto’s administration, claiming that the Head of State’s local and international standing has plummeted significantly.
Responding to President Ruto’s recent overtures inviting opposition figures into the Kenya Kwanza government, Kalonzo stated that sentiment on the ground—both home and abroad—indicates growing public dissatisfaction with the current regime.
“I would have joined you, but your popularity has dropped immensely. I have been to Rome, London, and Bondo—and everywhere I go, people say they have rejected your administration,” Kalonzo remarked.
The Wiper leader reiterated that the opposition coalition remains unified and focused on presenting a credible alternative in the upcoming 2027 general election. He emphasized that joining a government currently facing criticism over economic hardship and taxation policies would be a betrayal of the electorate.
The exchange highlights escalating political realignments as leaders position themselves ahead of the next electoral cycle.
