Former Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has turned down a job offer from Mombasa businessman Haytham, popularly known as The Car Don, saying he wants to dedicate his time to serving residents ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Haytham had offered Mosiria a job at his car dealership following his dismissal by Governor Johnson Sakaja, urging him to leave politics behind and channel his energy into something more rewarding.

“Come to Canon Motors. We work together. Come to Canon Motors. We do marketing together. Come to Canon Motors. We do advertisement together,” he said, while promising Mosiria a dedicated office at the dealership.

However, Mosiria thanked Haytham for the offer, saying he wanted to focus on helping vulnerable people, including children experiencing abuse, those living on the streets and patients struggling to access medical care.

In a message addressed to Haytham’s motor company, Mosiria said he appreciated the opportunity but believed he needed to remain available to serve Nairobi residents as he pursued his political ambitions.

“Thank you for the job offer. I truly appreciate the opportunity, and I would have loved to work with your company. However, the people of Nairobi have called upon me to serve them as their next governor, and I have a lot of work to do between now and next year,” Mosiria said on Friday, October 23,2026.

Mosiria added that he wanted to dedicate more time to rescuing abused children, assisting people living on the streets and supporting families in distress.

“I want to dedicate more of my time to rescuing children being abused, those living on the streets, assisting sick people who cannot access medical care, and helping families in distress across the country,” he added.

Mosiria asks Haytham for ambulance

Rather than take up the job, Mosiria appealed to Haytham’s motor company to support his community work by providing him with a branded ambulance.

He said the vehicle would help him respond to emergencies and transport sick and vulnerable people to hospitals.

“With this in mind, I would like to make a humble request: Could Canon Motors Limited support me with a branded ambulance to facilitate my efforts to rescue and transport sick and vulnerable people to hospital?” he asked.

Mosiria argued that the arrangement would offer the car dealer an opportunity to contribute to community welfare while gaining brand visibility through the ambulance’s operations.

“This would be a meaningful partnership that would allow me to continue serving humanity while giving Canon Motors Limited valuable brand visibility through the ambulance’s operations. More importantly, it would be an opportunity for your company to give back to society and demonstrate its commitment to saving lives and supporting those in need,” he stated.

He also said the partnership would allow the company to demonstrate its commitment to supporting people in need.

“I believe that together, we can make a real difference in the lives of many Kenyans. Sometimes, the greatest investment a company can make is not just in business but in humanity,” Mosiria explained.
