Pastor Victor Kanyari has delighted social media users after reuniting with a woman he described as his first girlfriend, taking a trip down memory lane as they recalled their youthful relationship.
A video of the reunion, filmed in what appeared to be the pastor’s office, circulated on TikTok, showing the two sharing laughter and reminiscing about their school days.
During their conversation, Kanyari opened up about why their relationship never developed into a serious romance, admitting that he was intimidated by the woman’s perceived social status.
Speaking in a mixture of Sheng and Swahili, the televangelist explained that he viewed her as being in a different class from him, making it difficult for him to approach her confidently.
He said his hesitation was not necessarily because he lacked feelings for her, but because he was afraid of pursuing someone he considered to be of a higher status.
Kanyari also revealed a memorable detail from their youthful friendship, saying he was the person who bought her first mobile phone.
The pastor explained that he initially became close to the woman through her brother, who was one of his closest friends.
However, the friendship was later overshadowed by tragedy when her brother died during election-related violence. Kanyari recalled warning his friend to remain at home, but the advice was not followed.

Kanyari disclosed that the woman had visited him at his church, prompting him to make time for her despite his schedule.
He recalled being so eager to meet her that he informed his secretary he needed to see her, even if it meant setting aside his other commitments.
