Road safety officials warned that holiday travel increases the risk of accidents because many students move at the same time. They said drivers must be extra careful, especially on highways where high speeds make it harder to control a vehicle during an emergency.

Authorities announced increased surveillance on major roads to protect learners travelling home. They cautioned matatu owners and drivers against putting profit before passenger safety.

Officials also warned drivers against rushing to complete extra trips for more income. They said such pressure often leads to reckless driving, fatigue, and disregard for traffic rules. Any matatu found violating safety guidelines will face action.
