Mp Gathoni

Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has dumped the ruling UDA party, saying she will defend her seat on another political outfit.

The lawmaker said she cannot align herself with the ruling party and the Kenya Kwanza administration accusing the administration of double speak.

Wamuchomba cited what she described as tribal attacks.

The lawmaker noted that she waited for the government to take action and instead only some MPs were arrested for statements similar to that made by the Cabinet Secretary.

“After soul searching, with my voters I feel my conscious does not allow me to dine and associate with people who have no regards to other communities,” Wamuchomba said.

“I am going to defend my seat for the third term, I am categorical I am not going to use UDA party.”

She spoke during a press conference at Parliament buildings on Thursday.

The MP did not however disclose her new political home saying she will consult the constituents before announcing the next move.

“Once I consult the people who vote for me, I will make it public the political party I will use to defend my seat,” she said.
