Esther Musila has reflected on the unexpected path that led her into marriage with gospel singer Peter Omwaka, popularly known as Guardian Angel.
Musila shared the reflection on Monday, October 5, 2026, alongside a photo of herself with her husband. Her message highlighted how love can develop in circumstances that people never anticipate.
“Sometimes you fall in love with the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time,” Musila said.
Her remarks offered a glimpse into the beginnings of her relationship with Guardian Angel, which started through his music rather than a search for romance.
The couple first met in March 2020 after Musila became interested in Guardian Angel’s song Rada. She subsequently contacted radio presenter Maina Kageni, seeking an opportunity to connect with the musician.
According to Musila’s previous account, her initial interest in Guardian Angel was professional. She wanted to help the relatively less-known singer develop his music career and increase his visibility.
“When I met him, it was for us to grow his music. We needed to come up with a plan for how he needs to be out there, that was the plan. But God has his own plans,” she previously recalled.
What began as a meeting focused on music gradually developed into friendship. With time, the relationship took a romantic direction, eventually leading to marriage.
Guardian Angel has also previously acknowledged that he did not expect their first meeting to result in marriage. In a 2024 interview, the singer said he was not thinking about getting a wife when he first met Musila.
“When I met my wife, I wasn’t even thinking about getting a wife,” he said.
Their relationship progressed after the initial meeting, with the couple eventually starting to live together. They later formalised their union in a private wedding held on January 4, 2022, attended by close friends and family.
Since then, Musila has frequently shared moments from their life together and spoken publicly about the companionship they have built.
She has described Guardian Angel as not only her husband but also her best friend, while regularly expressing appreciation for the relationship.
In August 2026, during National Couples Day, Musila again celebrated their journey by sharing a photo of herself with Guardian Angel.
“As we celebrate National Couple’s Day, I want to celebrate us… Loving each step we take together, my love. Cheers to more steps in the right direction,” she wrote.
Musila’s latest reflection once again underlines the unusual beginning of their relationship. What started in March 2020 as an attempt to help an emerging musician advance his career eventually became a romantic relationship and, later, a marriage.
For the couple, their story remains an example of how plans can change when two people meet unexpectedly and develop a deeper connection over time.
