Tanzanian singer Nandy has opened up about plans to work with fellow Bongo Flava star Zuchu, revealing that they are taking their time because they want their collaboration to be done properly.
Speaking during an interview posted on Wasafi’s social media pages on Monday, September 28, 2026, Nandy said there was no problem between the two musicians and that they were simply waiting for the right time to release their song.
The singer was asked what was delaying their collaboration despite her close relationship with Zuchu. Nandy explained that the two have already discussed working together but want the song to be bigger and meet their expectations before releasing it.
“There is nothing that Zuchu and I cannot do at the moment. We want our collaboration to be very big and for everything to be perfect. But soon, we are almost there. We will give it to our fans,” Nandy said.
Nandy and Zuchu’s friendship
Nandy and Zuchu have known each other for years, way back before both singers became established names in the Tanzanian music industry.
The two previously took part in a competition in 2016, when they were still building their careers. Nandy later finished as the first runner-up, while Zuchu continued pursuing her music career before eventually joining WCB Wasafi.
Their careers have since grown in different directions, with both becoming recognised names in Bongo Flava. Despite this, their friendship has continued, although their relationship has at times been questioned by fans because they are rarely seen together.
Nandy denies beef with Zuchu
The two singers have previously faced speculation that they do not get along, partly because of the comparisons made between them as successful female musicians. Nandy has, however, repeatedly dismissed the idea that there is bad blood between them.
In September 2026, she addressed the speculation during the 40-day celebration of Zuchu and Diamond Platnumz’s daughter in Dar es Salaam. Nandy explained that their friendship exists away from cameras as well, saying they often meet at studios and other places within the entertainment industry.
She also rejected the suggestion that their friendly interactions were only meant to convince fans that they had no differences.
Nandy joins Zuchu’s family celebrations
Nandy’s appearance at Zuchu’s family celebrations also gave fans another glimpse of their relationship. She attended Zuchu’s Henna Day on September 10 alongside her husband, rapper Billnass. The event was held ahead of the 40-day celebration of Zuchu and Diamond’s daughter.
The two singers were seen enjoying the celebrations together, with Nandy also taking part in the music and dancing during the event.
She later attended the main 40-day celebration on September 12, where family members, friends, and several figures from Tanzania’s entertainment industry gathered to mark the milestone.
Fans wait for Nandy and Zuchu’s song
With Nandy now confirming that the collaboration is still in the works, fans will have to wait a little longer to hear the two singers on the same song. For Nandy, the delay is not about disagreements between the two artists but about making sure the final project is ready.
Her latest comments also come after years of speculation surrounding their relationship, with the singer maintaining that she and Zuchu have no reason to be at odds.
