Fresh details have emerged on the events at the graveyard of the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng’eno, where the mother of the fallen leader pleaded with the DCP party leader to consider building a proper memorial structure for her son.

The mother’s remarks came during a visit to the graveyard in Narok, Emurua Dikirr, where the MP’s death in a helicopter crash was still being mourned by residents.

According to those present, she told the DCP party leader that she did not want her son’s grave to be exposed to rain, especially during harsh weather.

She explained that she had earlier requested the government to support the construction of a mausoleum, but the request was reportedly turned down during a previous rally and government engagement.

During the same visit, the late MP’s supporters said the mother made a direct appeal for the grave to be protected with a shelter that would also make it more dignified.

She noted that she hoped visitors would be able to attend prayers and remembrance ceremonies without worrying about rain or harsh conditions.

Responding to the plea, the Emurua Dikirr MP who attended the graveyard vow to support the family with the costs of building a good-looking, well-designed graveyard for Johanna Ng’eno.

The MP also promised to cater for medical expenses for Johanna Ng’eno’s brother, who is currently hospitalized. Community members said the move was meant to ease the financial burden on the family while they continue to grieve their son and leader.

Speaking at the graveyard, the DCP party leader described the appeal from the mother as important and said it reflected the kind of support families need after losing loved ones.

Residents said the visit was not only about condolences, but also about concrete assistance and respect for the memory of the late MP.
