Baba Talisha

Six years after losing his wife in a tragic road accident, Kenyan content creator and photographer Faustine Lukale, popularly known as Baba Talisha, has paid tribute to her as he marked the anniversary of her death.

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, Baba Talisha reflected on the loss of Milka, affectionately known by his followers as Mama T, remembering the impact she had on his life and family.

‘A day that changed our lives forever’

In a heartfelt social media post, Baba Talisha described August 15, 2020, as a day that permanently changed their lives.

“15th August 2020 — a day that changed our lives forever,” he wrote.

He acknowledged that although six years have passed, the memories of his late wife remain deeply rooted in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

“Today marks 6 years since Mama T left us, yet her love, memories, and presence remain deeply rooted in our hearts.”

Baba Talisha added that some people remain unforgettable regardless of how much time passes.

Remembering Mama T

Rather than focusing solely on the circumstances surrounding her death, Baba Talisha used the anniversary to celebrate Mama T’s character and the memories they shared.

He remembered her for her kindness, strength, laughter and the love she showed those around her.

“We remember her beautiful heart, her strength, her kindness, her laughter, and the love she poured into those around her,” he said.

He also reflected on the lessons she left behind and the moments they shared as a family.

“We remember the moments we shared, the lessons she taught us, and the memories that time can never erase.”

The accident that changed the family

Mama T died in August 2020 following a horrific road accident involving the family along Thika Road.

Baba Talisha survived the crash, while their young daughter, Talisha, sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.

The young girl underwent a lengthy recovery that included multiple surgeries and therapy as she dealt with injuries sustained in the accident.

The experience also saw Baba Talisha become widely recognised for documenting his journey as a father raising his daughter following the loss of his wife.

‘Forever our Mama T’

As he concluded his tribute, Baba Talisha sent a touching message to his late wife, assuring her that she remains loved and remembered.

“Mama T, wherever you are, know that you are still loved, still missed, and forever remembered.”

He ended by praying for her continued rest and expressing hope that they would meet again someday.

“15th August will always carry your memory. Until we meet again, continue resting peacefully, Mama T. Forever in our hearts. Forever our Mama T.”
