Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in parts of Nairobi and Kilifi counties on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
The planned outages will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. as the company carries out maintenance work on its power network.
In Nairobi, customers along Kijabe Street and surrounding areas are expected to experience the interruption. Affected locations include Media Max and Longonot Place, as well as customers located next to the listed areas.
In Kilifi County, the outage will affect several parts of Mariakani.
The affected areas include Mariakani Town, Bamba, Kadzonzo, Roche, Shreeji, Mariakani Barracks and the Weighbridge.
Other locations listed by Kenya Power include Mariakani Police, Mariakani Catholic, Miracle Church, Mkilo, Kalalani, Msufini and World Poles. Customers in neighbouring areas may also experience interruptions during the maintenance period.
Kenya Power has urged customers in the affected areas to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled interruption.
The company regularly announces planned power shutdowns to allow maintenance and improvement works to be carried out safely across different parts of the country.
Residents and businesses relying on electricity in the affected areas have therefore been advised to plan their activities around the scheduled outage window.
