Mosiria

A former DJ who reportedly worked with Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz has been rescued after being found sick and living on the streets of Nairobi amid an apparent battle with addiction.

Nairobi City County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria came across the man on Thursday, August 13, 2026, while he was sleeping along Mombasa Road near the Nyayo Stadium roundabout.

Mosiria stopped to speak to him and establish his identity and circumstances. During the interaction, several passersby who recognised the man approached and identified him as a former prominent figure in the entertainment industry.

According to those familiar with him, the man had previously worked as a DJ and at one point collaborated with Diamond Platnumz.

Mosiria steps in to help

As Mosiria sought to establish more about the DJ’s background, he spoke to people who knew him and offered to help connect him with assistance.

He asked those familiar with the man to provide their contact details so that arrangements could be made to get him help.

“Nitachukua number yenyu niwaambie mahali mtamuleta asaidiwe huyu DJ,” Mosiria said.

The county official later shared the encounter on social media, expressing concern over the DJ’s deteriorating circumstances.

“Enyewe watu huku inje wanakapitia! Huyu jamaa alikuwa DJ, who even worked at one point with Tanzania star Diamond, but due to addictions, here he is sick and suffering, sleeping along Mombasa Road at Nyayo Stadium roundabout,” Mosiria said.

Appeal to locate his family

Mosiria also appealed to anyone who knows the DJ’s relatives to help reconnect him with his family.

“If you know his family, kindly let them know and inform me,” he said.

The intervention is part of Mosiria’s continued efforts to highlight the challenges facing vulnerable people living on Nairobi’s streets and connect them with support.
