Charlene Ruto’s lighthearted interaction with her traditional ceremony outfit has attracted widespread attention online, with many Kenyans describing the moment as a sign that the First Daughter was genuinely enjoying her special occasion.

Charlene and her Tanzanian fiancé, Isaya Yunge, held their traditional Koito ceremony on Saturday, August 8, at the Ruto family’s Intonna Heritage Farm in Naserian Village, Kilgoris, Narok County.

The colourful event brought together relatives, friends and invited guests from both Kenya and Tanzania as the two families marked an important stage in the couple’s journey toward marriage.

A video captured during the ceremony showed Charlene standing beside Isaya as he addressed guests who had travelled from different parts of Tanzania and Kenya to witness the celebrations.

As Isaya expressed his appreciation to those who had attended and acknowledged guests who were preparing to travel back to Mwanza, Charlene appeared cheerful and comfortable. She held one side of her long brown dress and playfully moved it from one side to another while standing beside her fiancé.

Although it was a simple gesture, the moment quickly became a talking point among social media users. Many viewers were amused by Charlene’s relaxed demeanour, particularly given the public attention surrounding the high-profile family occasion.

Addressing the guests, Isaya said, “We are here to say goodbye and allow those who are travelling to Nairobi and to those headed back to Mwanza this evening also. We thank you for coming to celebrate this important day with us. We have not finished but are just halfway there.”

While his remarks focused on thanking the visitors and acknowledging the next stage of the celebrations, Charlene’s playful interaction with her dress became one of the most memorable moments shared online from the ceremony.

One social media user, Arsenal Queen, commented, “She is just a babe; let her play with her dress. Tanzanians, take good care of our daughter. you are now officially our in-laws.”
